Role Summary

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) for a fixed‑base opportunity located in Amberley, Queensland.

 

As a key member of our Engineering team, you will play a vital role in maintaining and certifying AW139 aircraft, ensuring the safety, quality, and airworthiness of our fleet. You will work closely with the Senior Base Engineer and Maintenance Manager and contribute to continuous improvement within a highly skilled maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and certify maintenance on AW139 aircraft in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Act as a visible safety champion, supporting and promoting CHC’s safety culture.
  • Maintain compliance with CHC Part 145 MOE, company policies and DAMP.
  • Complete required training and maintain Company Maintenance Authorisation prerequisites.
  • Provide guidance and support to technicians and trades personnel.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, worksheets, and shift handovers.
  • Identify issues affecting maintenance progress and escalate where required.
  • Travel interstate or overseas if required.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed to support operational needs.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Successful applicants will need the minimum requirements:

  • CASA Part 66 Category B2 Licence (AW139 unrestricted type rating preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in helicopter aviation and aircraft maintenance.
  • Strong compliance and safety mindset.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication, problem‑solving and time‑management skills.

 

 

Desirable:

  • Two or more years of experience in aircraft or aeronautical product maintenance, overhaul, or repair.
  • Ability to prioritise competing workloads.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and maintenance/inventory systems.
  • Experience coaching or leading others, aligned to CHC’s values.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to supporting shift work and occasional deployments.
