CHC Helicopters Netherlands, based in Den Helder, is the main heliport for the Dutch sector of the North Sea. Operating a fleet of AW139 helicopters, the Den Helder base cooperates closely with CHC bases in Aberdeen, Humberside and Norwich in serving the offshore oil and gas industry.

 

 

Role Overview: CHC Helicopters Netherlands B.V. (CHC HN) is seeking a Lead Engineer B1.3 Base Maintenance to join our team. The Lead Engineer reports directly to the Chief Engineer.

 

The primary role of the LE is performing and supervising 'hands-on' maintenance to ensure that all applicable requirements (HESS, operational, and maintenance) are met. As senior member of a maintenance team, the LE monitors, coaches, and mentors staff to constantly improve and leads by example.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor assigned maintenance staff to ensure high performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, CHC NH - MOE sections, and approved Company procedures.
  • Promote procedural discipline, cleanliness, and personal safety across the team.
  • Provide technical advice and expertise to support safe and efficient maintenance operations.
  • Manage and coordinate shifts' work to meet operational requirements.
  • Perform and supervise maintenance tasks in accordance with CHC’s MOE, procedures, and approved maintenance data.
  • Certify maintenance work by issuing Certificates of Release to Service (CRS) and signing off maintenance records.
  • Identify, report, and act on hazards, occurrences, and non-conformances.
  • Undertake additional duties, tasks, and projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant aviation standards (e.g. EASA Part 66/145, CAA-NL, CHC procedures, and customer requirements).
  • Strong understanding of CHC’s MOE, including procedures and processes.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in aviation maintenance.
  • Good knowledge of English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to produce clear reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Meets training requirements outlined in MOE Section 3.9.12 Training (minimum requirements and their intervals).
  • Understanding of human factors and human performance principles relevant to the role.
  • Strong awareness of Company procedures and the impact of non-compliance on safety and regulatory approvals.
