Are you ready to take the next step in your aviation career and lead a high-performing maintenance team? CHC Helicopter is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Base Engineer (SBE) to join our Bunbury base in one of Australia’s most picturesque coastal regions.

Key Responsibilities

About the Role

As Senior Base Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading maintenance operations, ensuring aircraft readiness, and driving safety and efficiency across the base. You will report directly to the Part 145 Maintenance Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Perth office production planning supervisor in the performance or supervision of aircraft maintenance activities.
  • Manage aircraft and aeronautical products maintenance on the Base.
  • Ensure compliance with Part 145 approved Maintenance Organisation Exposition.
  • Support CHC Safety Management System.
  • Safe and efficient on-time aircraft delivery to operations.
  • Support and manage Maintenance Team.

 

The position will operate on an 8:6 roster with back-to-back coverage. This is a challenging position, will require the successful applicant to cover flexible working hours, and travel away from the Base in the support of a short-term deployment or an unserviceable aircraft recovery.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Essential:

  • CASA Part 66 Category B1.3 with AW139 Type Rating, unrestricted license and rating preferred. 

 

 

Desirable:

  • Leadership and coaching abilities in line with CHC values.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and organisational leadership skillset.
  • Strong communication and people management skills.
  • Experience in safe manual handling of tools, equipment and parts.
  • Highly detailed and task-oriented with a safety-first mindset.
