CHC Helicopter is a large helicopter services company, specializing in transportation to offshore oil and gas platforms, civilian search and rescue and air medical evacuation services and helicopter maintenance repair and overhaul. CHC Helicopters Netherlands BV currently has an open vacancy for the position of Lead Engineer (LE), reporting to the Chief Engineer and based in Den Helder, The Netherlands.

 

Purpose of the job                                                                                                               

The primary role of the LE is performing and supervising ‘hands-on’ maintenance to ensure that all applicable requirements (HESS, operational and maintenance). As senior member of a maintenance team, the LE is a leader and manager responsible for the day-to-day Technical operation who coaches and mentors staff to constantly improve, and who monitors and leads by example.

Tasks and Responsibilities                                                                                       

  • Lead, manage, monitor, coach and mentor and assess staff assigned to him.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant:
    • Health and Safety legislation;
    • CHC HN – MOE sections;
    • Approved company procedures.
  • Promote awareness, and monitor compliance, with regards to procedural discipline, cleanliness and personal safety.
  • Provide technical advice and expertise in safely running the maintenance operation.
  • Perform / Supervise the assigned maintenance in compliance with the Company’s MOE, standards, procedures, maintenance data, etc. and provide Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) to / sign-off on the maintenance records.
  • Report, analyse and act on hazards, occurrences and non-conformances.
  • Perform / manage additional tasks, duties and projects assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Specific job requirements                                                                                        

  • Have an interest and talent for leading and coaching people in helicopter maintenance.
  • Hold, or qualify for, a Company Authorisation Report (CAR) as Certifying Staff or Support Staff cat. B1.3 and / or B2 with AW139 Type Rating.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable EASA Part-CAMO, Part-66 and Part-145 requirements.
  • Good verbal and written communication, reporting and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain a level headed approach when under pressure.
  • Ample computer / MRO software skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, AMOS, SQID, TCmax, etc.).
  • BHV and EHBO;
